Hanshi Leo Kozloski

Leo Kozloski started his martial arts training in early 1965, first training in the art of Judo. Later he started to train with Master John Pachivas in karate. Over the years Leo has had an opportunity to study many different styles of Martial Arts: GoJu-Ryu, Aikido, Shotokan, Kempo, Shorei-Ryu, Jujitsu, Kendo -the art of the sword.

Leo started teaching at the Hollywood Y.M.C.A. in 1975 with eighteen students. This led to the growth of the U.S. Academy of the Martial Arts and promoted over 21 black belts. Hanshi Kozloski has won numerous karate tournaments, including the Southeastern Karate Championships.

Leo is also the creator of S.T.R.I.K.E. which stands for Self-Defense Tactics Reached in Knowledge through Education. STRIKE is designed for women only. The seminars deal with building women's self-confidence and overcoming their fears.

Leo has used his martial arts training to teach police officers as well as working himself as a bodyguard.

Leo has recently formed the U.S. Christian Academy of the Martial Arts which currently meets at Crossroads Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia. The classes are conducted in such a manner to develop an in-depth knowledge of God's teachings, while learning the art of karate.

Now, 45 years later, Leo currently holds the rank of 9th degree black belt in the style of Hon-Shin-Do.
